Arkansas Transition Services

ATS consultants will provide ongoing and customized training and consults to special education teachers interested in improving outcomes for students with disabilities. Though our primary focus is on helping teachers of students with disabilities in junior high and high school, we have worked with teachers of middle school students in special education to encourage self-determination skills and student involvement in transition planning. It’s never too early for students to begin thinking about their future! We also work closely with other staff including counselors, principals and special education supervisors.

Some services include:
Transition File Reviews – new to Transition Planning? Not sure if you have everything you need in the transition plan? Contact your transition consultant to review the transition plans and provide you feedback with recommendations for additional technical assistance if needed.
Consultations – need more information on a specific transition topic? Want to brainstorm ideas for a transition class? Need help with assessments? Your transition consultant is available to come to your school and discuss a variety of transition topics.
Transition Trainings –need a refresher on writing measurable post-secondary goals? Need some information and assistance on implementing self-determination curriculum? We offer a variety of trainings at the district and state levels. Check out our calendar for state-wide events or contact your transition consultant to make your training request.
Person-Centered Planning facilitation – want to hold a PCP meeting for a student? Your transition consultant can facilitate initial meetings if you have not been trained! Don’t know what a PCP meeting is? Contact us!
Local Transition Team information and facilitation – contact your transition consultant for more information on how you can improve transition outcomes with the help and planning of a Transition Team. You can also participate in team events throughout the year such as the ATS Cadre meetings or the ATS Summit!
